CBS Welcomes the Upcoming Series ‘Blue Bloods’

Recently while attending the session of the Television Critics Association press tour, Donnie Wahlberg, Tom Selleck and producers Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green, made a formal announcement regarding their upcoming project, ‘Blue Bloods’ that will be aired on the CBS channel on DISH Network.
After the success of the ‘The Sopranos’, writers and producers Robin Green and Mitchell Burgess have featured a totally different angle in their latest project ‘Blue Bloods’. ‘The Sopranos’ have portrayed an in-depth picture of world of crime. But in case of Blue Bloods’, Robin Green and Mitchell Burgess have primarily focused upon the lives and dynamics of multiple generations of a New York City police family. Tom Selleck is playing the role of a olice commissioner while Donnie Wahlberg will play the role of an ace detective.
According to Green, “We did the antihero thing for all those years. But now we’re interested in looking at what a hero is like in today’s world. We wanted to look at a different morality.”
Green specifically mentioned that their motive have been to create a show that would combine police procedural with family drama. “We had never really seen those two melded together.”
It was the element of family that had attracted both Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg towards this project and they have agreed for this show. The best part is that the shooting will take place in and around New York City and Selleck and Wahlberg are quite pleased about that.
According to Selleck, “That was essential for me. It’s hard to argue that it’s not a better series because it was shot in New York.” Tom Selleck will be continuing with the popular series, ‘Jesse Stone’ besides working in ‘Blue Bloods’ as he said, “I made it very clear that I wanted to keep doing those.”
The viewers will surely have a great time watching ‘Blue Bloods’ once it is premiered in CBS on their DISH HD TV. For further details on the show you are always welcome to come back to this space.
