The New York Yankees Select Cito Culver for MLB 2010

Cito Culver is a 17 year old switch-hitting shortstop who got selected 32nd overall. He will be sent to the New York Yankees minor league is he signs up with the team. This 17 year old switch-hitter can play in the outfield as well. He has able to impress all the scouts while playing at the Irondequoit High School.

Culver has batted .561 (37-for-66) with 10 doubles, five triples, nine home runs, 38 RBI and 20 walks in 22 regular season games this past season as a high school senior, according to his school website. He fielded an average 933. Out of the total 120 chances he has committed only 8 errors. He has helped his school to the Monroe County Division title. He is considered to be as the most valuable player of the team in the last 3 seasons.

Culver is equally ecstatic, having been selected for the MLB 2010 and the New York Yankees is his favorite team. And guess who his favorite player is? Obviously it is none other than Derek Jeter.

Damon Oppenheimer, Yankees Vice President of Amateur Scouting, said, “We were able to draft a very athletic kid who can play a good shortstop. He has a plus arm, is a solid runner and is an excellent hitter. He’s a player we are happy to have. It was an easy decision for us.”

Amy Ryan Joins HBO’s ‘In Treatment’

Amy Ryan to Join ‘In Treatment’ on HBO

HBO, the premium movie channel of DISH Network features innumerable movies and programs to keep the viewers engaged and glued to their television screens for hours. The content of all the shows are designed keeping in mind the personal likings and choices of the viewers belonging to different age groups. The viewers can undoubtedly have a wonderful time watching their favorite show content on HBO.

Recently it has been heard that Amy Ryan will soon be joining the cast of ‘In Treatment’ aired on HBO. Amy has been assigned to play the role of Paul’s (Gabriel Byrne) new therapist in the show. Dianne Wiest’s character has been replaced by Amy Ryan in ‘In Treatment’. Bebra Winger has also been signed for several episodes for playing a particular character in the show but no further details have been revealed about her character.

There is yet another good news for all of you folks! The character of Holly will be returning to the hilarious comedy series ‘The Office’. Previously Ryan had made a guest appearance at the show as the love of Michael’s life. Unfortunately for Michael, Holly has been transferred to another office. On the season finale episode we witnessed Michael requesting his boss to bring Holly back. Guess what guys? It seems his prayers are going to get listened. There is a rumor that the coming season will be Steve Carell’s last. So in that case Michael and Holly might get back together again. Isn’t that wonderful guys? Sure it is!

“Drop Dead Diva” : Season 2 Premiere

Drop Dead Diva - Season 2 Premiere
Guys you know what? The much anticipated season 2 series of ‘Drop Dead Diva’ is about to premiere on Sunday, June 6 on DISH Network Hallmark Channel. The show has been considered as one of the hit series of 2009. It is a one hour comic drama that chronicles the life of a beautiful but snobbish wanna be model who dies a fatal death in an unfortunate car accident. Due to divine intervention and sudden twist of fate her soul gets resurfaced into the body of an over-weight lawyer, recently diseased.

At the beginning of the Season 1 series, we meet the pretty looking Deb (Brooke D’Orsay), who meets with a tragic accident and dies. She is surprised to find herself in Heaven where she pleads the gate keeper Fred (Ben Feldman) to send her back to her mortal life. But, by mistake her soul gets reledated into the body of Jane Bingum (Brooke Elliott) an attorney who is also diseased. Deb is furious but has no other choice.

Jane is an intelligent, ambitious, over-weight attorney who is pretty much focused in life. But unfortunately for Debs, she lacks those qualities. Deb is a beauty without brains. She has always given importance to her external beauty and has never used her brain. But now she has to. But how far will she be successful?

Towards the end of Season 1 series we find that Deb is ready to forget what happened in the past and tries to adapt herself with this new life.

The viewers definitely had a great time watching the season 1 series and they will surely have a jolly good time watching the season 2 episodes on their DISH TV in stunning HD mode.

Season 2 begins, featuring entertainer Paula Abdul (of ‘American Idol’). She will be playing the role of Judge Paula Abdul, a figment of Jane’s subconscious. David Denman and Devon Gummersall will give a guest appearance this season . The premier episode will begin with a musical dream sequence, choreographed by Keith “Tyce” Diorio of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’.
